TABOR, S.D. — The Wynot Expos hit the road June 11 to take on the Bluebirds from Tabor and fell behind early to drop a 10-4 decision in South Central League play.
In fact, the Bluebirds scored all of the runs they would need in the first inning and they were done scoring at the end of the second frame.
The Expos scored first, manufacturing a run in the first inning.
Lee Heimes worked a walk after the first batter struck out then Jalen Wieseler got on board thanks to a Tabor error which landed Heimes at third base.
Peyton Wieseler hit a ground ball which forced out the runner at second, but Heimes scooted in from third for the game’s first run.
Unfortunately the lead didn’t last long as the Bluebirds came up with the eight-run bottom of the inning and added two in the second to go up 10-1.
Jesse Lundahl and Landon Wieseler scored in the third inning and Jackson Sudbeck scored in the top of the fourth and both teams failed to score the rest of the contest.
Landon Wieseler took the loss on the hill for Wynot. Dylan Heine was 3-for-3 at the dish for the Expos. Wynot is set to travel to Menno June 18 before hosting Crofton on June 21.
