The Laurel 10u Softball girls had their League Tournament June 13 and 14 at Crofton. There were seven teamsthatparticipatedinthedoubleeliminationtournament,Laurel,Osmond,Crofton,Winside,Randolph and two teams from Hartington. The Laurel girls came home Saturday with two wins and remained in the winners bracket. First game was against Osmond, 8-7, and the second game against Hartington#1, 10-5. The first game Sunday, Laurel dropped into the losers bracket after a loss to Crofton, 1-13. The Laurel girls played Randolph and won with a score of 11-8 and advanced to the championship game to play Crofton once again. After back-to-back games, Laurel started strong with a 4-0 lead after the first inning against Crofton. Crofton came back in the second and tied the score 4-4. The third inning both teams rallied and Laurel came up short on runs with a 6-9 loss. The Laurel girls received the 10u League Runner Up medals to end the day. Players and coaches include (back) Baylie Graf, Naomi Badley, Lena Brummels, Alma White, Charli Beck, Kara Funk, Rowen Conaway, Melanie Carson, Diana Badley, (front) Hannah Fuoss, Rylen Christiansen, Jyrnee Carson, Daisy Abts, Brooklyn Lawyer and Elizabeth Kneifl.
