PLEASANT VALLEY — Pfc. Arthur Dean Albrecht left Tuesday to return to his duties with the armed services at Fort Bliss, Tex. He had spent a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Albrecht, following his return from a tour of duty in Germany.

PLEASANT VALLEY — Mr. and Mrs. Daylon Schmeckpeper and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kumm and family attended Mission Festival services at First Trinity Lutheran church at Bloomfield. Guest speaker was Pastor Jenkins of Omaha’s Hope Lutheran church. He is the only negro pastor serving the Nebraska District.

HARTINGTON- A suit for damages resulting from a car-truck collision and a suit asking for back salary were filed with Clerk of District Court Cecilia Walz here the past week.
Ludvig Nedergaard of Hartington was named defendant in a $1,336.55 damage suit filed here Saturday.
The suit was filed by Fritz Bernstein after a collision November 29, involving a semi-truck owned by Bernstein and an auto driven by Nedergaard.
The accident occurred near the Jordan Oil Station on Highway 15. Virgil Bernstein of Oldham, S. D., was driving the truck. The plaintiff alleges the accident was the result of negligent and careless driving on the part of the defendant and as a result the tractor and trailer were damaged to the extent of $676.55.
The plaintiff also alleges that the truck was disabled for 22 days for repairs and the net rental value of the truck and value of the use is $660. James Goetz is attorney for Bernstein.
A suit asking for $1,250 salary was filed against School District 46.
The suit was filed by Mrs. Anita Johnson Gade of Laurel, instructor in District 46. The plaintiff alleges the school employed her to teach for the 1955-56 school year for a salary of $250 per month and she only received four months salary.
