GRAND ISLAND — Cedar Catholic’s Memphis Ulrich earned a tie with Battle Creek’s Gavin Lindgren to medal at last week’s State Class C Golf Tournament here.
Both golfers fired 150s to tie for 13th and earn medals at the Indianhead Golf Course.
Ulrich started the tourney out with a first-day 79, but caught fire on the second day to finish with a 71. His 71 was the best outing of any Cedar golfer during the two-day stretch.
As a team, Cedar Catholic finished ninth in the event.
Fremont Bergan defeated Adams Central in a playoff to earn the team trophy. Kearney Catholic’s Nash Malone took medalist honors by two strokes with a 5-under par 139.
