RANDOLPH - Some 25 good roads men from Randolph were at the district road meeting at South Sioux City Wednesday. The crowd was large, the enthusiasm strong and hopes are high.
Governor McMullen said in his address that lack of funds was holding back Highway No. 1, and declared as soon as funds were available the road would be built. Our delegates report a hospitable welcome in the river town.
An organization was formed for the purpose of getting action on the highway. L. V. DeVore of Randolph is president and Spencer Butterfield of Osmond, secretary. Directors were named from towns along the line, the member from Randolph being Wm. Fike. On the return trip a heavy rain and mud compelled many to stay all night at Allen. The experience was another argument for a surfaced highway.

RANDOLPH - Miss Elizabeth Peterson, a member of the senior class of St. Frances, has not been absent a day from school in the 12 years. Her sister Louise, a junior this year, has been absent but one day in 11 years. This is a record rarely equalled and speaks well for both pupil and the home training.
