HARTINGTON - Scattered showers did not diminish the enthusiasm of the many people participating in Sunday’s celebration of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Centennial.

The Centennial celebration started with a well-attended Saturday evening dance at Skylon Ballroom. Cedar Catholic’s Jazz Band with their “Big Band” sound and Rokusek’s Acoustics made alternate appearances.

On Sunday, a 1 p.m. Mass opened the official celebration with Archbishop Daniel E. Sheehan as the main Celebrant. Concelebrants were Holy Trinity Pastor Msgr. Cyril Werner, and Hartington natives Fathers Jude Burbach, Jim Buschelman and Quinten Kathol.

Also con-celebrating were Chancellor Eldon McKamy, and the Fathers Joe Miksch, Bill Fitzgerald, Ed Schad, Mike Grewe, Don Cleary, Frank Partusch, Frank Dvorak, Carl Salanitro, Tim Lange, Charles Knippen, Norman Parr and Steven Stillmunks, who will be coming to Holy Trinity as associate pastor.

The church was filled to overflowing for the special liturgy which had been in the planning for many months. In addition to the participating priests and fourth degree Knights of Columbus, the processional included representatives from each parish.
