Work begins on Niobrara SP Pond aquatic project

N,255 n Tuatic abitat roMect began this eek at the Niobrara tate ark ond, causing some disrution in vehicle trac on ark roads.

The Nebraska ame and arks ommission ill imrove the aTuatic habitat conditions and angler access at the ond in the roMect, hich should be comleted this fall.

The roMect rimarily focuses on sealing the ond, hich historically has not held ater suciently to suort shing and recreational activities. ell also ill be installed to sulement runo, an mericans ith isabilities ct-comliant shing ier ill be built and inlake habitat ith cedar trees ill be installed.

Funding is being rovided by the Nebraska ame and arks Tuatic abitat rogram, aital 0ainte- nance Funds, and a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust.

The Tuatic abitat rogram is maintained by the urchase of the Tuatic abitat tam, hich is included hen each angler buys a shing license.

Open house is set for Weigand Marina expansion

The oen house, set for a.m. to noon, ill give arkgoers an oor- tunity to visit several informational tables to learn more about the ex- ansions oerations, logistics and design.

Campers invited to take state park survey

Their resonses ill hel inform future lanning and imrovements to enhance their state ark adventures.

The survey ill run -une - and include Tuestions about caming freTuency, distance illing to travel, reservations, referred caming style, barriers to caming, funding, and more. ,t ill be available in English and anish. amers may take the survey by scanning a 45 code on a yer. Find a yer in state ark area camgrounds or on restroom facilities across the state. They also can be found at kiosks and ark oces.
