1976: Daws, Poppe and Lenhoff set new track records

May 27, 1976

RANDOLPH - Arthur D. Kuhl of Lexington, Ky. has accepted the position of State Soil Scientist for the Soil Conservation Service in Pennsylvania.

Kuhl has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a Master of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

RANDOLPH - Three Randolph High School tracksters broke records during the recent track season.

Kent Daws holds the record in the two mile run in the time of 10:40.3; Lyle Poppe holds the high jump record with a leap of 6-2.75; and Russ Lenhoff set a new NENAC freshman long jump record of 18-2.5.

RANDOLPH - Shelly Podany attended School of Accountants of the Ford Clinic in Omaha.

Shelly, who is employed at the Dick Grace Ford Agency in Plainview, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Podany.

RANDOLPH -Mrs. Gleason Landberg spent several days visiting at the Robert Landberg home at North Platte. While there Mrs. Landberg attended a dance recital in which her granddaughter, Deniese Landberg participated.

May 29, 1986

RANDOLPH - The Alexis Ann Rohrberg Scholarship has been established at Wayne State College for students studying biology or pre-forestry.

Jack and Marci (Rethwisch) Rohrberg of Omaha are sponsors of the scholarship in memory of their daughter, Alexis, who died in 1976 while a freshman studying pre-forestry at Wayne State College.
