Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School music

Sandra Cross | for the Laurel Advocate Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School music departments held their spring concerts for both the high school and elementary school recently. (top) Harper Granquist, Sawyer Keller, and Lawson Garthoff show their patriotic spirit as they perform for the crowd. (above) Mason Wiebelhaus makes sure to hit all the right notes on his trombone. (right) Nora Pinkelman and Taylor Funk help get the crowd going during one of their patriotic numbers. Both concerts were filled with band and choral music under the direction of Jenni Lundahl, choral director, and Patti Beyeler, band director. The high school concert choir, concert band, small ensembles, percussion ensemble, show choir and jazz band all performed on May 4. A week later, elementary students took the stage with a patriotic‑themed program celebrating America’s upcoming 250th birthday. The fifth grade band started the patriot program off followed by vocal selections by the elementary grades. The fourth grade students using recorders played My Country ‘Tis of Thee. The concert wrapped up with everyone joining in and singing “America.”
