Cardinal golf places fourth at Stanton Invite

STANTON — The Randolph golf team headed down to Stanton May 8 to play in the Stanton Invitational and wound up fourth in the team standings.

Lutheran High used the top two finishers and three players in the top 10 to take the team title after posting a 326. Chambers/ Wheeler Central was second at 349, Plainview was third with a 350 followed by the Cardinals at 353.

Cole and Brody Lawless carded a 73 and an 80 respectively to claim medalist and runner-up honors.

Ryan Engel carved out the low round for the Redbirds with an 85 which placed him sixth.

Tate Broderson fired an 88, Bentley Reimers was at 89, Bentley Bonczyski and Talyn Meyer each came in with 91’s.

The Cardinals hosted their own invitational May 11 and will be back in action May 13 at the Ponca Invitational at Highland Oaks Golf Club.

The D-2 District Championships are set for May 18 at Indian Trails Country Club just south of Beemer.
