1946: Krause, Scoville and Erickson qualify for State

May 14, 1931

HARTINGTON - Randolph finished first with 67 points to Hartington’s 52 for second at the Cedar County meet at Hartington Tuesday.

Cain of Randolph and Miller of Hartington were the star performers.

Coach Carkoski’s stellar point collector amassed 23 points to Cain’s 21 for second individual point honors.

Coach Macklem’s Laurelites finished third with 23½ points, Wynot fourth with 6, and Belden fifth.

The Hartington track was muddy and the time and distances of the events were not good enough to attract attention. The Cardinal relay sprinters finished many yards ahead of the field as the final event.

Randolph placed in every event except the mile run, showing a wellbalanced team.

Miller of Hartington took firsts in pole vault, shot put, javelin and discus and second in the high jump.
