HARTINGTON — The Clerk of the District Court office in the Cedar County Courthouse will soon be offering a new service.
Clerk of the District Court Janet Wiechelman talked with Cedar County Commissioners Tuesday about her desire to take passport photos at her office to make it easier for people to obtain a passport.
She then asked how to best inform the general public about this service.
She considered starting a social media page to promote the idea.
However, she did not want to be the one to manage the page.
Commission Chairman Dick Donner said a social media page could “turn into a Pandora’s Box. I don’t know that I want to open that box.”
Since people usually pick up an application at her office before they get a photo taken, Donner suggested she simply post a sign telling people that service is available.
