Wildcat golfers compete in Pierce Invite

PLAINVIEW - The Hartington-Newcastle golf team traveled to Plainview for the Pierce Invitational.

The Wildcats ended up 11th in the 14-team tournament after posting a score of 384.

Cedar Catholic won the meet with a team total of 319, 19 strokes in front of second-place Elkhorn Valley.

The Trojans were 25 shots ahead of Bloomfield, which finished in third.

Kayne Gratzfeld shot the low round for the ‘Cats, firing an 85.

Carter Kelly shot a 94, Grady Lammers a 102, Austin Sudbeck a 103 and Lincoln Grutsch a 105.

HNS headed to the GNAC Tournament at Atkinson on May 5.

As HNS prepares for post-season play, they will next compete at Battle Creek on May 7.
