ROLLING HILLS - If Mother Nature was a golfer she would lead the Randolph golf team 1.5-.5 for the past week as she instigated the postponement of one golf tournament and shortened the second tournament, the Osmond Invitational to just nine holes on April 25.
Evidently, the Randolph Cardinals are just like their “namesake” and enjoy a good rain as they played to a second-place finish in the team standings at the Osmond Invitational in the wind and the rain at Rolling Hills Country Club.
Plainview was just one stroke in front of the Cards with a 182, Randolph was next at 183.
Bentley Reimers posted the low round for the Redbirds with a 43 over nine holes which put him in sixth place in the medals.
Ryan Engel was next for Randolph with a 45, Talyn Meyer came in with a 46, Tate Broderson carded a 48 and Bentley Bonczynski shot a 55.
Keldon Loecker of Bloomfield was the medalist with a 39, winning a scorecard playoff over Kayne Gratzfeld of Hartington-Newcastle who also fired a 39.
The Cardinals were set to play at the Hartington-Newcastle tournament on April 28, head back north for a triangular hosted by Cedar Catholic on April 30 then head for the Pierce Invitational on May 2.
