The Laurel Community Complex was the host site for what would be an abnormally hot track meet for the month of April. Area athletes managed to beat the heat as they competed for their own personal bests. Area teams competing at this track meet were Cedar Catholic, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Randolph Public School and Wynot Public School. Cedar Catholic boys held off the field, winning first place, scoring 136 points. The next closest team was Archbishop Bergen with 74 points. Cooper Hochstein (above) keeps pace with LCC’s Drey Puppe as they head for the finish line in the 100-meter dash. Hochstein finished second in this race to Puppe, with a time of 11.49. Anisten Wortmann, (left) had an outstanding performance, winning the 100-meter dash, the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
