RANDOLPH — The primary on Tuesday was visited by about a third of the entire voting strength of the precinct.
There were 93 democratic ballots cast, 89 republican and one peoples’ independent. Two or three folks used the absentee privilege and voted by mail.
Republican workers did effective service for Aldrich for governor and Warner for congressman, while the friends of Ed Gurney boosted him to high man in his division, and the “vote for Hughes” movement found good support.
On the democratic side the boosters for Keith Neville for governor and Hitchcock for senator gave their men excellent support, and Victor Wilson outstripped his opponents for railway commissioner. Douglas Cones of Pierce was also given nice support.
Objectors to President Wilson voted against him for Robert Ross, a western liveryman. Of the 93 democratic votes, out 69 voted for Dan Stephens for congress and only 78 voted for president, one ballot being for Hughes.

RANDOLPH - Miss Charlotte Rasmussen has been chosen by Wayne State Teacher’s College to take a principal part in the comic opera “Martha” to be given at the Wayne city auditorium April 30.
Miss Faith Adee also takes part in the opera.

RANDOLPH - Harrison Huwaldt and Virgil Haldeen left Randolph Sunday morning with a truck load of eggs for the Monday market in Chicago. The week before they took a load to Fremont.

McLean represented the Randolph church at the Niobrara spring meeting of Presbytery at Madison. Rev. King is a member of the foreign missions committee.

RANDOLPH - Carhart Lumber Company has purchased the Walrath lumber yards at Plainview, adding it to their yards in northeast Nebraska.

RANDOLPH - More Randolph men returning home from overseas service and receiving discharges are S2c Kenneth Dowling, William H. Collier, Jr., MM2c, Sgt. Verlin Adams and T/4 Wallace Johnson.
