RANDOLPH — Radioman 2c Frank Clausen was discharged from the naval reserve April 13 at St. Louis, Mo., separation center after two and a half year service. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific.
He has one battle star for the invasion of Southern France, the Philippine Liberation ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific ribbon with one battle star, and the American Theater of War ribbon, the Victory medal and Occupation of Wake Island ribbon.
RM2c Clausen is the son of Mrs. Ethel Clausen of Randolph.
Discharged from the army under the adjusted service rating plan at the Fort Leavenworth Separation Center is Pfc. Francis T. Moser, husband of wife, June. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Jensen, Randolph.
Incidental to his service overseas he is authorized to wear the European Theater of Operations ribbon, American Theater ribbon, Good Conduct medal and Victory medal.
Before entering the army, he was engaged in farming at Creighton. His wife has been staying with her parents.
April 18, 1946 RANDOLPH — Jimmie Sauser, 16 year old junior in St. Frances high school, will be the Randolph Lions’ Club representative at the Cornhusker Boys State. Boys from all over the state will be present at the Boys State, which is being resumed after abandonment during the war years.
Alternate named is Leon Scott, 16 year old junior in the Randolph public high school.
Jimmie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Sauser, and Leon the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Scott.

RANDOLPH —The Cedar county project Achievement Day is set for Friday at Randolph city auditorium.
This is an annual program given by the project members and is an open meeting with the public invited.
The main feature, a talk by J. V. Srb of the state extension service will be educational and entertaining. More detail of the program will be printed later.
Mrs. R. D. Hall, the county chairman, will be presiding and she has committees working to make the day’s program outstanding.

RANDOLPH —The following registrants have been ordered to report for pre-induction physical examination on April 23, 1946: Edgar M. Meyerott, Coleridge; John R. Blotz, Randolph; Ralph Joseph Leise, Hartington; Roman Filips, Crofton; Harold E. Bonertz, Fordyce and Paul D. Havekost, Coleridge.

RANDOLPH —Installation of Randolph’s new 225 horsepower Diesel engine in the Randolph municipal power and light plant was completed early this week and a trial run of 24 hours will be made today, Thursday.
At this time the engine will be tested under actual load conditions.
Installation of the new engine was under the direction of Robert Prosser of Fairbanks, Morse and Co., of Omaha, an ex-service man. Plant Superintendent Clark Blizzard reports Mr. Prosser’s work of installation of the engine one of the most efficient and neatest ever made at the plant.
Following approval of the new engine by Plant Superintendent Blizzard and the city council the engine will be paid for in cash. Old capacity of the local power plant was 270 kilowatt hours while the new engine will now permit a capacity load of 375 kilowatt hours.

RANDOLPH — Extensive improvements at the city park have been made during the past few weeks, the trees being trimmed and the ground cleaned of debris and leaves raked.
The baseball diamond has been filled and prepared for baseball which will begin in May.
The building at the swimming pool is being repaired and cleaned and put in order for the opening of the pool this summer. The work will soon begin on repairing the pool and putting it into good condition for the coming season.

RANDOLPH —Everett Burley, Randolph Creamery manager, has leased the Fitch produce and feed business at Wayne from Lloyd Fitch and took possession of the business on April 9.
Glenn Allen, employee at the Fitch Produce, will manage the plant, which will continue to be known at the Fitch Produce. Mr. Fitch was in the produce business at Wayne for 31 years.
