PLAINVIEW — The Cardinal golf team traveled to Plainview to play in the Larry Knaak Invitational Apr. 11 and came away with a 12th-place finish in the team race.
Creighton won the tournament with a team score of 317, Battle Creek was second with a 327, the O’Neill JV team was third with a 344, Plainview was fourth with a 353 and Neligh-Oakdale rounded out the top five after posting a 367.
The Redbirds carded a 384. Calvin Wilmes of Creighton was the individual medalist firing a 73, Battle Creek took the next two spots with Gavin Lindgren taking second on a scorecard playoff after tying teammate Tyan Thompson with a pair of 77’s.
Ryan Engel shot the low round for Randolph with a 94, Bentley Reimers and Tate Broderson each carded a 95, Bentley Bonczynski was next with a 100 and Talyn Meyer came in at 102.
The Cards were scheduled to be back in action back at Creighton Apr. 14 then head to the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational on Apr. 16.
