BATTLE CREEK - The Randolph track teams competed in the Battle Creek Invitational on April 8 and brought home some hardware from the meet.
The Braves won the boys’ division with 156 points, 54 points in front of Elkhorn Valley while Elkhorn Valley took the girls’ title with 111 points and the Bravettes were the runners-up with 98.
Luke Harder scored the only points for the Cardinals taking fourth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5-8 and he also brought home a fifth-place medal in the triple jump with a best of 38-08.
Abbey Backer led the Lady Cards with a couple of medals in the jumps.
Backer placed fourth in the triple jump, hitting the sand after a hop, skip and jump of 33-04 and posted a best of 15-08 in the long jump to place fourth and fifth respectively.
The Lady Cardinals also scored a couple of points in two relays.
The 400-meter relay team of Bria Reimers, Emily Gilliland, Aniston Schmidt and Backer circled the track once in 56.08 for sixth while the 1,600 quartet of Schmidt, Rylee Reimers, Lydia Schultz and Gilliland was also sixth with a time of 4:45.20.
Both teams were scheduled to return to the track at the Cedar Catholic Invitational on Apr. 14 before heading to Laurel for the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational on April 21.
