COLERIDGE — An accident took the life of Russell Erickson, farmer living southwest of Hartington.
His car left the road and rammed into a ditch north of Coleridge. Mrs. Erickson reported to Sheriff Ralph Clements that the lights of an oncoming car causing the accident by blinding Mr. Erickson.
Mrs. Erickson and daughter, Jacqueline, both suffered injuries in the accident. Mrs. Erickson suffered a foot injury and Jacqueline was cut severely about the mouth. The accident occurred just after midnight Thursday.

COLERIDGE — Wanita Krei, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orphious Krei and Bob Hahne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hahne, have been selected to represent Coleridge at Girls and Boys State this year. Both are juniors at the Coleridge High School.
Loretta Kalin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kalin was chosen, as the alternate to Girls State and the alternate to Boys State is Roland Lentz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lentz.

COLERIDGE — Nine children are attending the pre-kindergarten play school conducted by the homemaking department of the Coleridge High School.
Children attending are Barbara Kock, Joan Vock, Judy Hall, Merikaye Anderson, Jimmy Gray, David Frerichs, Karen Roth, Lonnie Dempsay and Billy Koudele.

COLERIDGE —Six members of the Coleridge school faculty have signed contracts for the 1951-1952 school term.
They are Mrs. Marie Roth, Miss Emma Bartling, Miss Charlotte Lundeen, Russell Pedersen, Stanley Newman, and Supt. J. E. Dalton. Mrs. Robert Weir of Hartington has been hired as homemaking instructor for the next school term. Mrs. Weir is recently teaching homemaking in the Randolph school.
Roger Hamilton of Sioux City has been secured as commercial teacher for the next school term and Mrs. Ella Koehler of Norfolk has been hired as the fifth and sixth grade teacher. Mrs. Koehler is now teaching at Beemer.
