LCC Jazz Band competes at festivals

LAUREL — On March 24, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Jazz Band competed in the Coyote Jazz Festival on the University of South Dakota Campus in Vermillion, South Dakota. The LCC Jazz Band is under the direction of Patti Beyeler. Three Soloist Citations went to Kolten Settje on alto saxophone, Mara Droppers on tenor saxophone, and Christian Staples on trumpet. The LCC Jazz Band received a second place trophy for their performance.

On March 30,the Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Jazz Band competed in the Northeast Community College (NECC) Jazz Festival in the Cox Activities Center on the Northeast Community College Campus. Mara Droppers received a Superior Solo Certificate for her tenor saxophone solos.

LCC Jazz Band members are (back row) Paul Allison, Derek Nelson, Foster Stone, Christian Staples, Kolten Settje, Craig Karnes and Kyler Hangman, (middle row) Alex Allison, Alyza Leonard, Owen Johnson, Kennedy Hall, Mason Kort and MaraDroppers,(frontrow)Patti Beyeler, Faith Galvin, Jolynn Kinkaid, Ruby Jonas, Mason Wiebelhaus, Olivia Wright and Caden Barnes.(Right) Soloist Citations Awards in Jazz Band went to Christian Staples, Kolten Settje and Mara Droppers.
