LCC Bears play in Plainview’s Larry Knaak Invite

PLAINVIEW - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears traveled to Plainview for the Larry Knaak Invitational Golf Tournament on Apr. 11 and got into the top 10 in the team standings in the 19-team tournament.

Creighton used a score of 317 to take the team title with Battle Creek second at 327, the O’Neill JV was third after firing a 344 and Plainview was fourth after posting a 353.

The Bears ended up ninth in the team race after shooting a 376.

Calvin Wilmes of Creighton took individual medalist honors carding a 73, Gavin Lindgren of Battle Creek won a scorecard playoff over teammate Tyan Thompson for second after both golfers shot a 77.

James Recob was 27th individually for LCC after firing a 90, Talon Carson shot a 91, Tanner Thompson shot a 97, Luke Erwin was next at 98 and Paxton Hoeppner was 58th with an even 100 over 18 holes.

The Bears were set for a triangular at Creighton with the Bulldogs and Randolph on April 14 and will host their own invitational on April 16.

LCC will head to Hartington April 20 for another meet.
