RANDOLPH — Adolph Brodersen and Mrs. Harrison Huwaldt were new members elected to the Board of Education in Tuesday’s election. They will replace Gordon Chapman and A.B. Helms. In the no contest city election Roy Gibson and Bob Sellon were re-elected to the city council.

RANDOLPH — Arnold Bartels was elected commercial instructor for the 1961-62 school board meeting Monday evening. Bartels, a graduate of Wayne State Teachers College, taught commercial and was assistant coach at Winside the past year.

RANDOLPH — The Board of Education accepted the resignation of Ray Friday, instrumental and music instructor at the Randolph Public School at its regular meeting. Mr.
Friday has accepted a position teaching music at Fairmont.

RANDOLPH — Mrs. Irma Lackas purchased the residence from the Frieda Carstens estate at auction Saturday. Mrs. Lackas will move from the residence owned by Ed Paulson to her new home in the near future.

RANDOLPH — LeRoy Janssen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Janssen, has been selected to attend the American Legion Junior Lawmen program to be held in Lincoln at the Air Base in June. He was selected by Wilson-Abts Post 113 of Randolph and will be sponsored by the Randolph Community Club.

RANDOLPH — Ronald Leiting, former Randolph employee of the Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Co. has been transferred from Crofton to Chadron. He had spent a year and a half at Crofton. Ronald is the son of Mrs. Susie Leiting.

RANDOLPH — Denise Nordhues has been awarded a Special Abilities Art Scholarship for the first Semester of 1981 Wayne State College.
A senior at Randolph High School, Denise is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nordhues, Jr.

RANDOLPH — Wrestlers winning first place on Saturday in a tournament at Neligh were Jeff Hanna, Steve Loberg, and Jason Whitmore.
Mike Spader and Dean Spader earned second place with Mike Hanna and Brian McDonald third.

RANDOLPH — Randolph High School students, who earned certificates at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Omaha were Arlyn Loberg, Spelling and Proof Reading; Wade Dibbert, Business Mathematics 11; and Sharon Whitmore, certificate on the Chapter Scrapbook.

RANDOLPH — State FFA awards earned by Randolph’s Chapter at the State convention in Lincoln included triple crown FFA Chapter leadership award, superior Chapter rating award, superior Chapter safety award, area award in “Building Our American Community.”
Andy Thelen was also awarded with the B.O.A.C. volunteerism award.
Students attending were Chad Winkelbauer, Ed Reimers, Andy Thelen, Mark Sullivan, Cory Bermel, and J.J. Landanger, and their advisor, Dennis Bazata.
