HARTINGTON — Hartington’s park facilities, including the picnic areas and shelter house, tennis courts and golf course, will be officially opened to the public Sunday, May 6, the City Park Board has announced.
The public is asked to cooperate by staying out of the park.

HARTINGTON — At a recent meeting of the Hartington City Council, bids for water mains in water improvement districts 2, 3, and 4 were accepted and contracts let.
The total cost for the materials for the water main extensions and improvements was $12,648, which came in lower than the $14,000 estimated cost prepared by the engineer.

HARTINGTON — V.E. Rossiter was named the new President of the Bank of Hartington, he took over leadership of the local institution after the recent death of his father, E.W. Rossiter.

HARTINGTON — Charles H. Wieseler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wieseler of St. Helena, has been named manager of Butter Nut’s new plant in California.

HARTINGTON — The Board of Directors of the Cedar County Ag Society have been busy the past several weeks making arrangements for the 1966 Cedar County Fair.
It was announced at a recent board meeting that Johnny Coon Agency has been contracted to provide entertainment for the first two nights of the fair.
The Ink Spots and Bill Papon will appear in front of the grandstand Monday, Aug. 8 and a variety show is billed for Tues. Aug. 9, including the Wyrick Sisters, Chuck Williams, Bill Podany and a tap dance act. The board is also negotiating with the Johnny Coon Agency for a thrill show and fireworks display at the fair grounds July 2.

HARTINGTON — No one was reported injured in a two car collision at Highway 84-15 junction about 8 p.m. Sunday.
Involved in the accident were vehicles operated by DO Elwood of Creighton and Daryle D. Peters, Bloomfield.
Hartington Chief of Police Leonard Guinn said Peters was eastbound on Highway 84 and Elwood was southbound on Highway 15 and attempted a right turn at the intersection.

HARTINGTON — Jay Walz was re-elected president of the Hartington Golf Club at a meeting. George Eells was elected vice-president of the organization, replacing Don Utoft and F.J. Stevens was re-elected secretary treasurer.
CJ Vlach was named to the board of directors for a two year term and Ted Anderson was elected for a one year term.
In other action, the club: — Revised membership dues for the 1966 season. Local and out-of-town family membership remained the same as last year $35 and $30.
