WAYNE – The Wayne State College Choral Union will combine 125 dynamic voices at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, in Ley Theatre, located on the second floor of the Brandenburg Building. The performance is free and open to the public.

Wayne State’s Choral Union includes the Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Fortis, and Lyrica.
“Collaborating on an artistic project creates shared ownership,” said Dr. Matthew Armstrong, director of choral activities at Wayne State. “When we work together, it makes us better. Choral singing requires individual accountability, but more importantly, it’s about community. When each singer brings their strengths, the entire choir benefits and the experience becomes more rewarding. Choral Union is a wonderful way for students to share their gifts and celebrate our collective talents.”
Prior to the united choirs’ performance, the tenor/bass choir Fortis entertains with the uplifting spiritual “Rise Up, O Men of God” by Donald Boyd and the infamous doo-wop harmonies of “In the Still of the Nite” as performed by Boyz II Men. The soprano/alto choir Lyrica follows with a Scottish folk song and the soothing lullaby “A Cradle Song” by Henry Walford Davies.
