DES MOINES, Iowa — A pair of Hartington wrestlers played a key role in bringing home a national championship as Team Nebraska captured the All-Star Division title at the AAU Midwest National Duals April 3-4.
Easton Hochstein and Bodie Hochstein were part of the Team Nebraska squad that battled through a loaded field of state all-star teams from across the Midwest to claim the title.
Easton Hochstein turned in a dominant performance, going undefeated over the three-day event to earn Gold All-American honors for his 9-0 record. Wrestling against some of the top competition in the region, Hochstein did not drop a match, helping anchor Nebraska’s run to the championship.
Bodie Hochstein also delivered a strong showing, finishing with a 6-3 record on the weekend.
His performance earned Bronze All-American honors and provided valuable points throughout the dual tournament as Nebraska secured the top spot.
The AAU Midwest National Duals is one of the premier spring team events on the regional wrestling calendar, featuring state-based all-star teams competing in a dual format across multiple age divisions.
In addition to the Hochsteins’ success, other area wrestlers also made their mark on the national stage.
Brooks Heine picked up four wins while competing in the elementary division, helping his team earn a fourthplace finish.
At a separate national-level event, the USA Heartland National Duals, Cashten Schrempp and Riggin Fischer contributed to a fifth-place team finish. Schrempp posted a 4-4 record over the weekend, while Fischer went 5-3 in his matches.
