Randolph woman’s arrest causes school lock down

RANDOLPH — Randolph Public Schools went into lockdown Friday morning when law enforcement served a search warrant and an arrest warrant on a Randolph resident.

Randolph Police Chief Tony Backer, with the assistance from law enforcement from Cedar County, Wayne County, Pierce County and the Nebraska State Patrol served the warrants to Katie Dohren, 37, Randolph.

The extra manpower was needed as a precaution, law enforcement officials said.

“The Randolph Police Department is incredibly grateful for the assistance offered by the involved agencies to ensure the safety of the officers and the general public,” Backer said.

Dohren, who is accused of theft, was taken into custody. Her court proceedings are expected to take place in Wayne County.
