YANKTON - The Cardinal and Lady Cardinal track teams competed in their second meet of the young season in the Mount Marty Class B High School Indoor Meet at the Ruth Donohue Fieldhouse on the campus of Mount Marty March 26.
Abbey Backer grabbed some hardware for the Lady Cards with a third-place showing in the triple jump at 31-feet, 8-inches and placed sixth in the long jump after hitting the sand after 14-06.25 inches.
Emily Gilliland placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.28, Braelyn Berens of Parker/ Marion won the event in 1:03.49.
Mabel Ngebeh was 14th in the shot put with a heave of 29-05. Morgan Divis of Canton, SD won the event with a toss of 37-03.
The Cardinals closest medalist was Stewart Umberger who placed ninth in the shot with a toss of 43-02, Carson Divis won the event with a throw of 56-08.
The Cards and Lady Cards were set to travel to Plainview for the Ray Doerr Invitational on Mar. 31 before the Easter Break.
