Wynot returns state qualifier

WYNOT - Wynot head track coach Lee Heimes welcomed one re - turning state qualifier, two girls and five boys from last year's edition of the Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils track teams.

Junior Lane Heimes is the lone returning athlete with state meet experience after making it to Omaha last year in the high jump as a sophomore.

Classmate Braylon Hans also returns along with sophomores Trey Gowery, Blake Klug and Bentley Guenther. Wyatt Nelson, a fresh man, is also on the team.

Senior Addison Sharpe and junior Tiara Sudbeck return for the Lady Blue Devils and will be joined by freshmen Jacy Nelson and Maleah Heimes.

Wynot opened the season March 31 at the Cedar Catholic Invite and will return to Hartington April 7 for the Hartington-Newcastle Invite.

The Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils will make it three in a row in Hartington at another meet sponsored by Cedar Catholic on April 14 and then to the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational set for April 21.

The Norfolk Classic is scheduled for April 30 and the Lewis & CLark Conference Meet will run May 2 at Creighton.

Wynot will finish the regular season in the Winside Invitational at Haskell Field in Laurel then head back to Hartington for the Class D-3 District Meet on May 13.

The Nebraska Track and Field Championships are slated for May 20-23 at Burke Stadium in Omaha.
