Feb. 5: Fire alarm reported at Hartington school. False alarm. Crofton ambulance paged out for a rural Crofton woman who fell off of her bed and is now unconscious.

Coleridge man called for an ambulance for an elderly man that is unable to get out of bed and doesn’t feel well.

Man reports he hit a deer three miles south of Hartington on Highway 57.

Feb. 6: Laurel man reports he had an accident with another vehicle east of Laurel No one is hurt and the vehicles are off to the side of the road.

Caller reports a speeding vehicle. “I just turned off of Highway 15 and had a maroon Ford Explorer blow by me doing over 80. It’s like a racetrack out here.

Man calls to report there is a protection order against him, but his daughter just got off the school bus, but no one was home at her mom’s so she went to his house. “I’m just letting you guys know in case something is said.”

Woman calls to report someone is driving from Yankton to Hartington with drugs in the vehicle. Kids are also in the vehicle.

Man reports he is driving on Highway 20 near Belden and a vehicle in front of him “is all over the road.”

Fire alarm sounds at Hartington- Newcastle school. After contacting the school, it is determined to be a false alarm.

Feb. 7: Man calls for medical assistance. He thinks he broke his leg.

Man calls for clarification. He has been told he has to turn in his guns and ammo, but is not sure how this should be handled. Dispatcher advised him.

Laurel man calls to report he was just in an unoccupied house and it appears someone intentionally caused extreme water damage in the home.

Woman calls to report a vehicle in front of her on Highway 12 is driving very recklessly.

Randolph resident calls with a noise complaint.

Feb. 8: Man reports seeing a stalled car on the side of the road. He thinks they might have hit a deer.

Man calls for clarification. He is wondering if his ex can take the kids without first getting permission. “She hasn’t been around for six months, and then she comes and takes our child. I went to work and when I came home, they were gone.”

Convenience store calls to report they had a drive off.

Randolph woman fell and now she needs an ambulance because of a head injury.

Hartington area farmer calls to see if he can get help for traffic control on Highway 84. He will be moving 120 cows across the road.

Man calls that someone was at his house. When they left they backed over his mailbox.

Man who ran over mailbox called and said he offered to put the mailbox back up, but said the owner would not let him.

Feb. 9: Laurel fire department is paged out for mutual aid for Wayne. They are fighting a grass fire north of Wayne and need assistance.

Randolph fire department is paged out for a fire in a rural Randolph house. Woman who called it in said, “everything is on fire and we have propane.” Dispatcher calls Pierce County for mutual aid. Randolph fire calls back to report there are multiple fires around multiple structures.

Feb. 10: Man called wondering if he could get help from the Sheriff s office to get his W2 from a former employer Man called that his semi truck got into an accident on the highway near the scales outside of Laurel. “I was backing my semi into the driveway and a car went right under the semi bed.”

Laurel ambulance is paged out for a man that is acting very confused.

Feb. 11: Caller reports there are cattle out near Highway 84-Highway 12 intersection.

Woman called to get information about how to properly dispose of medical waste.

Field fire reported just north of Hartington. Hartington Fire Department is dispatched.

Woman called concerned that she is driving down the highway and hearing people talking in her car. “I think someone GPS’d my car. I am driving to California and hearing a voice in my car.

Feb. 12: Woman calls in to say her car has been stolen. “He is tripping on drugs and took my car.”

Law enforcement from South Dakota calls to say they are pursuing a vehicle that appears to be headed into Cedar County. He was later apprehended by Cedar County law enforcement.

Hartington woman calls asking for a welfare check on her mother. She has been in bed and can’t get up.

Driver on Highway 12 near Crofton reports a car in front of her is ‘driving all over the road.’

Tow truck driver reported that a vehicle is driving very close behind him with his high beams on.
