The Lied Randolph Public Library is proud to announce a generous donation from the Randolph Woman’s Club, which has made it possible to add more than 50 new books to the children’s collection.
Each year, the Randolph Woman’s Club hosts a fall craft show, dedicating the proceeds to support both the library and the local park. This annual event requires countless hours of planning, creativity, and coordination, and the Library would like to express its sincere appreciation for the time and effort these women invest in making it such a success.
A special committee made up of Debra Wiese, Jenny Gubbels, Betts Billerbeck, and Jane Clemens spent an afternoon carefully selecting the new titles. Their thoughtful choices have resulted in a diverse and engaging collection that includes everything from board books and easy readers to junior fiction and graphic novels.
Many of the newly added books tie into this year’s Summer Reading Program theme, “Unearth a Story.” The program will feature a variety of hands-on activities centered around gardening, worms, fossils, and dinosaurs—sparking curiosity and encouraging young readers to dig into new topics and discoveries.
The Randolph Cardinal Kids Learning Center was the first to check out the new collection, and as seen in the accompanying photo, the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the books. Their excitement is a wonderful reminder of the impact community support has on fostering a love of reading.
The Lied Randolph Public Library extends its heartfelt thanks to the Randolph Woman’s Club for their continued generosity and dedication to enriching the lives of local children.
