Feb. 2: Driver on Highway 81 called to report a vehicle in front of him is all over the road and is very dangerous. “It looks like they are texting.”

Call comes in to report a white pick up truck is in the ditch near Obert. “It took out part of the cable guide wire and messed up the truck.”

Woman calls to reports a black cow is out on the road on Highway 15 just south of Highway 84. Dispatcher reached out to landowner who then drove “a mile each way from my place and didn't see any cows out. Hopefully, he got back in.”

Feb. 3: Sheriffs Office begins receiving reports that roads are beginning to glaze over.

Coleridge man calls to report a vehicle on the main street in Coleridge is parked “about four feet from the curb and has been here since Sunday.”

Woman calls to report she was on her way to work and slid into a stop sign.

Coleridge woman calls to report a possible theft. “I think someone tried to steal my car. It rolled across the street and hit the curb. It damaged the front of my car and the tires are flat now.”

Hartington man calls to report he is having chest pain and wants to have an ambulance.

Driver on Highway 12 calls to report a cow is out on the road by the Highway 57 intersection.

Man calls with chest pains. Hartington ambulance is dispatched.

Feb. 4: Ambulance summoned for man who has was having chest pains the night before.

Truck driver reports he slid off the road and struck a light pole east of Randolph on Highway 20.

Woman calls for an ambulance for a woman who fell and is now bleeding profusely from the back of her head.

Man calls for a welfare check on an employee he has not seen for two weeks. “He won't answer calls or the door. Hewas sickandhe likes to drink a lot.”

Hartington Fire Department issues bum permit to Dean Burbach.

Randolph ambulance dispatched for a student having a seizure.

Hartington Fire Department issues a burn permit for Bob Heimes.

Driver reports seeing a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 81 north of Highway 84 on the curve.

Knox County dispatch calls to advise they may need Cedar County to take their 911 calls for awhile. They may have to evacuate their building. They might have a gas leak. They called back later to say everything was fine, and they would not need to transfer calls.

Driver is on Highway 12 and wanted to report there are a couple of big sheets of metal on the road somewhere between Obert and Maskell.

Randolph woman called for assistance in a dispute. “I want him out of my house.”

Store employee called to advise about a customer they were worried about. “He asked if we had a back door. We thought this was odd, so we advised him, ‘no.” The man left then. Dispatcher said to call if he comes back in.

Feb. 5: Man calls to report a strange vehicle has been on his property for two days. It has a flat tire and he’d like to know who’s vehicle it is. Dispatcher advised he is not able to divulge that information.

Man said there is an abandoned vehicle on Highway 81. He’d like to be able to reach the owner to see if he could buy it. He was informed the owner intends to get it fixed and get it moved.

Fire alarm reported at Hartington school. False alarm. Crofton ambulance paged out for a rural Crofton woman who fell off of her bed and is now unconscious.

Coleridge man called for an ambulance for an elderly man that is unable to get out of bed and doesn’t feel well.

Man reports he hit a deer three miles south of Hartington on Highway 57.
