County Government Day

Juniors from all five Cedar County schools gathered at the Cedar County Courthouse March 18 for County Government Day. The students (above)0 listened to presentations from elected county commissioners Dave McGregor and Dick Donner, and County Road Superintendent Carla Schmidt. Each explained their role in keeping the county running. Deputy County Sheriff Chad Claussen (below) explained the role of the Sheriff’s Department in apprehension and incarceration of suspects, and transporting them to court proceedings. The afternoon was then spent in the District courtroom observing a mock trial.
