Reader urges area residents to make their opinions known

Letters from our R eaders

My brother died on Highway 81.

I urge everyone to contact the engineers and express your concern about their plans for changes to the Highway 81 and Highway 12 intersection.

A general consensus of Crofton area residents and business owners is they do not want a roundabout built here.

We’d prefer to see the state spend up to $700,000 for signage, lights, rumble bars, and a four-way stop like there is at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 81.

This would fix the problems and cost a lot less than the proposed $7.5 million.

Vote no on this project by telling the state your opinion on this proposal. You can do so at this link: https://dot.nebraska. gov/projects/future-projects/jct-us-81n-12 — Angela Arens Crofton
