FORDYCE — When a community shows up for its neighbors, lives are saved. This March, Fordyce community members proved exactly that - transforming community spirit into lifesaving action at the most recent Fordyce Community Blood Drive, with 12 units of blood collected from 11 donors. That’s enough to help up to 36 patients in local hospitals.
Some donors don’t just give once - they keep showing up. LifeServe Blood Center proudly recognizes those whose sustained commitment has built a reliable, life-sustaining blood supply for local hospitals. Mileston donors include, Twila Jansen, two gallons; Brandi Kleinschmit, four gallons; and Anton Pick, 14 gallons.
The blood drive was made possible by the work of Duane Schieffer, the Team at Cedar Security Bank, the Village of Fordyce and the Fordyce Volunteer Fire Department.
The next Fordyce Community Blood Drive is 3-6 p.m., May 7, at the Fordyce Fire Hall. To schedule an appointment or for more information about blood donations, visit www.lifeservebloodcenter. org or call 800.287.4903.
