The Wynot Blue Devils took on the high flying Cardinals of O’Neill St. Marys in last week’s State Tourney opener at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. Justin Heimes (left) jumps stops on a fast break to let the Cardinal defender fly past him during first half action. Killian Steinhaus (above) finds the open lane as he drives to the basket against the Cards. St. Mary’s went into the tournament rated first in the state in most polls. After beating the Devils, they lost in semifinal action to Humphrey Archangels and ended up settling for third-place honors.
