Believer and Achiever

Believer and Achiever
Kennedy Hall was honored with an NSAA Believer and Achiever award at last week’s State Girls Basketball Tournament.

LCC senior earns statewide recognition for her leadership skills

LINCOLN — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge senior Kennedy Hall has been recognized as one of Nebraska’s top student leaders after being selected as a Believers and Achievers award recipient.

The statewide program, sponsored by the Nebraska School Activities Association and Currency, honors high school seniors who excel in academics, school activities and community involvement.

Hall received her award during last weekend’s State Girls Basketball Tournament. She was nominated for the honor by LCC guidance counselor Sarah Beckwith.

Hall carries a 3.92 grade-point average and has earned numerous academic honors, including multiple Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll selections, academic letters, membership and presidency in National Honor Society, the Greater Northeast Activities Conference Principal’s Award and recognition from Northeast Community College.

She has also been active in a wide range of NSAA-sponsored activities, including golf, music, play production and speech. Hall has qualified for state competitions multiple times and has earned district honors and Academic All-State recognition in both speech and music.

In addition to her classroom and activity achievements, Hall has held leadership roles in several school organizations, including FFA, Spanish Club, National Honor Society and TeamMates Mentoring.

Her involvement also extends beyond school. Hall serves as president of her 4-H club and church youth group, volunteers with the local American Legion Auxiliary and participates in community cleanup efforts.

The Believers and Achievers program was created to recognize Nebraska students who demonstrate excellence in academics while also showing leadership through NSAA activities, school involvement and community service.

Each year, the NSAA and Currency select and honor 48 high school seniors across Nebraska. The recipients are recognized during NSAA championship events and are invited to attend an end-of-the-year banquet celebrating their achievements.

During the banquet, scholarship recipients are also announced.

Students eligible for nomination must be seniors with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale and must participate in NSAA-sponsored activities.
