LAUREL - Three thousand, two hundred and eleven people passed through the Nebraska Poultry Special which was in Laurel yesterday afternoon.

It was a splendid crowd that came from over the entire county to take in this poultry short course, it was a short course in every sense of the word. Immediately upon the arrival of the train in the city, speakers were taken to the high school building and the auditorium where great crowds had gathered to hear the different talks and lectures.

At the auditorium, the big attraction was, the demonstration by Dan and Billy, the twelve and thirteen year old boys who are making the tour with the train. They held the closest attention of the audience and though young in years, they are wise to the poultry game and made an impression that will last for a long time.

Following the speaking at the high school, school was dismissed and the entire student body, including the pupils of many of the rural schools, marched to the train and were taken through the train ahead of the crowd at the auditorium.

Browning and the variety store stock is now being moved to the new location. It will occupy the west half of the room and Mr. Browning will put in a stock of groceries and staple dry goods on the east side, making it a complete new store. The Swift & Co. produce station will be moved to the building. Mr. Browning is the local manager.

LAUREL — Last Thursday evening the members of the golf club held their annual meeting at the American Legion hall. A great deal of interesting business came before the meeting and it was decided to make some improvements on the course this spring. The course will be lengthened to 3,000 yards and arrangements are being planned to put in a water system for the greens. With this accomplished, the course will be one of the very best in northeast Nebraska.

The election of officers was held: A. B. Shively, president; F. P. Voter, vice president; Vic Henry, secretary and treasurer and Dr. Morton, Frank Westrand, W. F. Wright, L. C. Walling and Mark Ankeny, directors.

Following the business meeting a social hour was held and coffee and doughnuts was served. The present outlook for the association is the brightest and the members are planning much activity.
