LAUREL — The LCC Speech Team hosted its home meet Saturday, Feb. 28. There were 13 teams in attendance.West Point-Beemer won the event and Osmond earned runner-up honors. LCC finished seventh overall.
Individually, Faith Galvin placed fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking. Cloey Young placed fifth in Poetry, Kennedy Hall placed fourth in Persuasive Speaking, and Ava Christiansen placed sixth in Entertainment.
The OID team of Kennedy Hall, Ava Christiansen, and Nolan Nordby placed seventh.
Overall, coaches said, it was a good day of competition and practice for the team as they continued developing their speaking skills.
