ABERDEEN — Several Hartington area swimmers competed with the Vermillion Area Swim Team in the South Dakota State Swimming Championships.
Piper Dendinger really shined in the competition. She helped the medley relay team earn a state championship.
She completed the IM in 1:27, a personal record with a three-second drop off of her previous best time. She finished in 13th place in the event.
Dendinger took third in the 100 backstroke in the 9-10 division. She also finished 11th in the 50 yard breaststroke.
She was fifth in the 50 Backstroke, 14th in 100 breast, 11th in 50 fly, 2nd in 200 free relay.
Braxton Christensen competed in the 11-12 Division 50 Free and placed 22nd. He also placed 14th in the 50 breaststroke. He was 21st in the 100 freestyle race.
Nora Sudbeck competed in the 25 yard free and placed 26th in the 8 and under division. She placed 35th in 8 and under division in the 50 yard backstroke.
