WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils wasted little time taking control Tuesday night, rolling past the Osmond Lady Tigers 65-34 in subdistrict play.
Wynot used a balanced scoring attack to pull away early and never looked back. Kenna Oligmueller led the way with 15 points, followed by Addison Sharpe with 13. Kiera Heimes added 12 points, Haley Wieseler finished with 10, and Makenzie Foxhoven provided a spark off the bench with eight.
Osmond was paced by Kaleigh Miller, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams started slowly in the opening quarter. Miller scored five early points for the Lady Tigers, but Wynot closed the period on a surge. Sharpe and Oligmueller each scored five points as the Lady Blue Devils built a 15-7 lead after one.
Wynot broke the game open in the second quarter, erupting for 27 points. The Lady Blue Devils caught fire from beyond the arc, with Heimes connecting twice from threepoint range. Jaylin Geisen, Wieseler and Sharpe each added a threepointer. Foxhoven chipped in with a pair of layups as Wynot extended its lead to 42-11 at halftime.
Osmond found more rhythm in the third. Miller scored seven points and Korrine Moes added six as the Lady Tigers put up 15 in the period. Wynot answered with six points from Oligmueller and five from Wieseler to maintain a comfortable 52-28 advantage heading into the final frame.
Wynot’s full-court pressure continued to wear down Osmond in the fourth quarter. Moes and Miller each added a basket and the Lady Tigers converted at the free-throw line, but the deficit proved too much to overcome.
Heimes knocked down two more three-pointers in the final period, Sharpe added another from long range, and Mya Pinkelman scored on a put-back to cap the 65-34 win.
