RANDOLPH - A harness valued at $75 was taken from the barn of August Hiebenthal, two miles west and six north of Randolph.
Mr. Hiebenthal offers $50 reward for information leading to the arrest.

RANDOLPH -Seth McAlexander, 33 years old, M & O section man at Carroll was found dead in the deep snow Tuesday night at a point two miles west of Carroll.
It is thought that a snow plow may have hit him as he had suffered a head injury and his left leg was broken.

RANDOLPH - To refill a doctor’s prescription after forty years elapsed is quite unusual. Roger Buchanan was confronted with a particularly low number calling for a certain prescription.
Finding it in his files, the prescription was dated May 14, 1895, filled by W. P. Hill and authorized by Dr. Allen F. Miller.

RANDOLPH - A champion snowdrift has been deposited at Laurel. Workmen can stand on the top of it and unscrew the street light bulbs from the light at the top of an 18-foot pole which supports the light. A cottage behind it is almost hidden from view from highway No. 20.

RANDOLPH - Construction of 57½ miles of additional lines in the Cedar-Knox County Rural Public Power district will begin in May, Supt. Harold Martindale has announced.
Approval of the new $45,000 allotment by the rural electrification administration was made last week.
When completed the new lines will enable the Cedar-Knox consumer list to serve 742 patrons instead of the present 619. Knox county will receive 33 miles of line and Cedar 24. The territory south of Crofton will have over 20 miles of new lines. Total line mileage in the district will be increased from 348 at present to over 405, when the line is completed.

RANDOLPH - Collecting Guns, Coins, Medals, Is Randolph Man’s Hobby For 25 Years Interested in collecting articles which are old, Harry Sellon has been following this hobby since 1915 and in that time has filled nine cabinets with collected items. Most prized of his possessions are his coins, which occupy two cases. The oldest coin is Pompeian and it is estimated that it was coined about 200 BC. In the collection are 40 coins from 40 foreign countries, and many old coins from the U. S. Prized among these are a 50c gold piece, 1871; $1 gold piece, 1851; $3 gold piece, 1854; the oldest U. S. coin is an 1808 half dollar. The paper money includes “shin plasters” of Civil War days, ranging from 3c to 50c and one dollar bills.
World and Civil War relics fill three cases. These include an 1855 Whitney military rifle, a muzzle loader; a German rifle used in the World War, and U. S. army Springfield rifle used in the Spanish-American war.
One case contains World War medals and ribbons collected at various conventions. Another case is used for family relics, of which one of the most interesting is the check for the first family auto purchased by C. O. Sellon, his father, on April 4, 1911. The remaining two cases are filled with rock specimens and formations
