LAUREL - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Erwin, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tuttle, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Vorice Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Magnuson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Johnson and Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Cleveland and Gary Don, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Borg, and P. A. Nelson were afternoon and supper guests in the Charles H. Nelson home Sunday in honor of Mr. Nelson’s 86th birthday. P. A. Nelson, 96 years of age, is a brother of Charles and the two had a happy time talking about the days of their youth.

LAUREL - About 35 friends and neighbors of the Max Holdorf family gathered in their home for a farewell party Wednesday night. Bunco furnished the evening’s entertainment with Mrs. Holdorf and Mrs. Julius Kirchner winning the prizes. They were presented with an electric table lamp. The Holdorfs are moving to a farm north of Tip Top school that they bought some time ago.

LAUREL - The regular monthly meeting of the Laurel Commercial Club will be held at the Lutheran church on Thursday evening of this week with the serving of the dinner beginning at 6:30 p. m.
A special feature of the program will be an address by Patrolman Yost of the Nebraska State Safety Patrol. He will be accompanied by Patrolman Hobbs, also of Laurel.
At this meeting the various committees will be presented to the club. Also several other matters of importance to club members will be brought up.

LAUREL -Mrs. Frank Vanslyke and daughter, Charlotte, and Mrs. Robert Hirchert attended a shower in Randolph at the Mrs. Glen Clark home given in honor of Joyce Young, who was married Wednesday to Clarence Stapleman of Belden.
Feb. 20, 1946
LAUREL - For the first time in 33 years, Walter Kint of Laurel is visiting homefolks in this vicinity. A family reunion was given in his honor on Sunday at the home of his sister, Mrs. John W. Shindledecker, of Charmian.
Before a baked ham and chicken dinner was served to 93 guests, the group joined in praying the Lord’s Prayer. Music for the occasion was furnished by George, John, Charles and Lawrence Shindledecker, Warren Stottlemyer, Mrs. Claude Fissel and Mrs. Raymon Shelley.
