Lady Bears close out regular season at 16-8

OAKLAND - The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Lady Bear basketball team opened up the post season with a 63-27 win over Lutheran High Northeast on Feb. 16.

The win allows the Lady Bears to advance in the C2-6 Subdistrict to take on GACC Feb. 17 with the finals scheduled for Feb. 19 in Oakland.

Final statistics were not available for the opening round game of the subdistrict.

In the final regular season match up for the Lady Bears, they held off a pesky Wisner-Pilger team 56-47 to improve to 16-8 on the season. The win over the Lady Eagles put them at 17-8.

LCC earned an early lead of 16-12 at the end of the first eight minutes Thursday in Wisner.

The Orange and Black then held on to lead by three at the intermission.

The Lady Bears extended their advantage to 43-34 at the end of the third before the teams played evenly in the fourth, both hitting for 13, which led to the 56-47 win for the Lady Bears.

Kaida Eriksen paced three LCC players in double figures on the night, finishing with 18 points.

Rena Rasmussen tossed in 17 and Carlie Kvols added 10.

Rasmussen again put in a solid night, recording her regular double-double by yanking down 18 missed shots, Kvols and Hattie Mc-Corkindale recorded seven caroms each.

Kvols dished out five assists, Eriksen and McCorkindale each posted four.
