WISNER - Laurel-Concord-Coleridge traveled to Wisner Feb. 12 to take on the Wisner-Pilger Gators as the regular season winds down.
The 5-16 Gators turned out to be inhospitable hosts as they held off LCC 60-46 for the win with one game left on the schedule for the Bears.
The teams played evenly throughout the game but Wisner-Pilger outscored Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in every period and led at every rest stop as the Gators methodically built the advantage and never let go.
It was 14-12 in favor of Wisner-Pilger after one, 33-25 at the half, 47-35 at the end of three heading into the 14-point final margin of victory.
Cade Johnson led a very balanced Bear scoring attack with 11 points, Tanner Thompson and Drey Puppe each added 10 and Talon Carson splashed three from distance for nine.
Thompson and Carson each narrowly missed double-doubles after grabbing nine rebounds each. Puppe corralled seven missed shots.
Johnson dished out five assists on the night.
The Bears will host Wynot in the regular season finale Feb. 20.
