Coleridge American Legion holds February meeting

COLERIDGE — The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held their monthly meeting Feb. 2 at the Coleridge Community Building. The units jointly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then separated and held their monthly meetings.

President V. Gullicksen called the meeting to order. She gave a reading and a prayer, followed by a moment of silence in memory of our departed.

Secretary B. Lage called the role with six members responding. She also read the minutes of the November meeting, which were approved as presented. Treasurer report was given. Motion was made by J. Burbach and seconded by W. Durham to approve the treasurer’s report; Motion carried with all AYES.

The mid-year convention was held in Norfolk in January. In new business, the District meeting will be in Bancroft March 15. President Gullicksen plans to attend and will get the poppies we ordered.

Essays are due back by the LCC Middle School, members will be judging them. The deadline for Girl State applications is March 1. We will reach out to the school to see if there is any interest in Girl’s state.

We have collected all 2026 membership dues. Next meeting will be March 2, 2026.
