Field fire

Field fire
Kellyn Dump | Cedar County News

The Hartington Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a field fire Thursday night north of Hartington on land owned by Jeff Leise. The blaze quickly lit up the sky, but local fire fighters just as quickly extinguished it. Dry weather has forced most area fire departments to either limit or put a ban on issuing burn permits at this moment. Burn permits are not being issued in many other parts of Nebraska right now — especially where fire weather risk is high. The latest drought monitor map places Cedar County in the 'moderate drought' category.
