RANDOLPH — Mark D. Meyer, a Randolph High School senior, has been selected as a winner of a one year Regent Scholarship to the University of Nebraska.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Meyer. He plans to attend UNL next year.

RANDOLPH — Barbara Walz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walz, is the winner of an alternate Regent Scholarship to the University of Nebraska.
Barbara has been accepted at St.
Mary College of Xavier, Kan. She is the recipient of a four-year St. Mary’s award scholarship valued at $2400.

RANDOLPH — Ann Sellon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sellon, has been named to the Dean’s List of distinction at Cottey College of Nevada, Mo. for scholastic achievement the past semester.

RANDOLPH — Spec. 4 Gerald Backhaus is spending a 30-day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Backhaus. He will then report for a 12-month tour of duty in Vietnam.

RANDOLPH - The Randolph Board of Education had a busy night Monday as a variety of subjects were covered in their monthly meeting.
Among the items covered were the request by the board for the Superintendent to study the feasibility of instituting a girls basketball program and the re-election of the three principals, Jack Rohrberg, Shirley Nissen and James Rasmussen were all reelected as principals with their salaries to be set at a later date.
Mrs. Carol Braesch, vocal music teacher submitted her resignation as an instructor in the Randolph school system which was accepted by the members of the Board of Education.
Randolph School Superintendent Neil Kluver said on Tuesday morning that a replacement is now being sought.

RANDOLPH - Two students, Tamera Korth and Karla Wattier, were selected to participate in Nebraska Wesleyan’s honor groups Feb.
12, 13 and 14.
Tamera Korth was selected as a member of the honor choir on recommendation from her director.
Karla Wattier was selected through auditions to the honor band as a third clarinet. The local band also had four other members selected as alternates. They were Dave Stevens, first alternate on trumpet, Leon Miller, second alternate on baritone, Gary Beltz third alternate on baritone and Dave Lienemann second alternate on percussion.
The final concert will be held on the Wesleyan campus Saturday, February 14 at 5:00 p.m.
James Baker, director of music, will accompany the girls to Lincoln.

RANDOLPH - James Billerbeck, son of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Billerbeck, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll listings for the fall semester at the University of South Dakota at Springfield.
In order to qualify for the honors listing, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.30 or better on a 4.0 scale in 12 or more semester hours of study.
