RANDOLPH — John Pock has purchased the interests of his partner, Larry Arndt in the Cornhusker Cafe and Bakery. Arndt recently bought a bowling alley, billiard parlor and lunchroom in Pierce with immediate possession.

RANDOLPH — Rev. Ralph Gilbert, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Fremont, will give the address at the annual Masonic Washington Day dinner on Thursday at the Masonic Hall.
N.B. Moran is in charge of entertainment, and R.L. Buchanan is in charge of the dinner.

RANDOLPH — A new 4-H Soil Conservation Club was organized at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Manzer north of Randolph.
Officers elected were Jim Huwaldt, president; Kennard Francis, vice president; Harold Hoff, secretary; Arlis Manzer, news reporter; and other members are Marvin and Clifford Frederick and Eudene and Neil Manzer.

RANDOLPH — Sgt. Paul Meyer returned to Camp Atterberry, Ind., after spending the weekend with his parents.

RANDOLPH — Gilbert Bermel, Randolph High School Junior, has been chosen by the Randolph Volunteer Fire Department as their 1956 representative to Boys State. Gilbert is the son of Marx Gilbert, farmer living south of Randolph.

RANDOLPH - Randolph will elect a mayor, councilman from each ward, police magistrate and two members of the board of education this year.
State law has made the offices of both city clerk and city treasurer appointive, and holders of these offices are no longer elected by the voters.
Harold Sherwood was elected mayor in 1954, but resigned in the summer of 1955, and Dr. G.
E. Peters was appointed mayor to fill out the term which expires in May.
Al Sauser’s term as councilman for the north ward and Ellis Barker’s term as councilman of the south ward expire. Ben Meyer’s term as police magistrate also expires.
Those whose three-year terms on the school board expire are Roger L. Buchanan and Boyd Cunningham.

RANDOLPH - Mrs. Oliver Stamm suffered a fracture of the ankle Monday morning when she was kicked by a cow. She was assisting with the milking at their farm east of Randolph.
She was taken to the Osmond hospital.
The accident happened the day after their son, Don, left for service.

RANDOLPH - Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kaiser and Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lenhoff were guests Tuesday evening in the Henry Ostendorf home.
The evening was spent playing cards and lunch was served.

RANDOLPH - At the February Music Boosters club meeting next Monday night, final plans will be completed for the music festival to be held in March. A good attendance is desired as Kenneth Gansebom, music director plans to present the plans and arrangements.
Ten schools have indicated they expect to be represented, and it is planned to have each school present a courtesy number.
On the program Monday night will be several grade school vocal soloists and a high school group will sing.

RANDOLPH - Concord high’s girls basketball team was badly outclassed Tuesday afternoon as the Randolph girls chalked up a 54-12 win on the Randolph court. Martindale with 10, Opkis, Isom and Andrew with seven each led the Randolph scoring.
Randolph went out of the conference last week to defeat Osmond 57-9 at Osmond. Chief scorers were Dowling with 13, Meier with 11, Patent and Bauer with six.
Next Tuesday, Hoskins, the only conference team to beat the Randolph girls this year comes to Randolph for a game. The two teams are tied for the lead in the conference race.

SHOLES -Daryl Granfield returned to camp in New Hampshire after spending his furlough here with his family. His parents took him to Sioux City Friday and he boarded a plane there.
