Lady Trojans drop conference consolation contest

HARTINGTON — After dropping the opening game in the Mid State Conference Tournament, the Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans found themselves in a consolation game playing Wayne to try to advance to the consolation finals.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be as the Lady Blue Devils turned away Cedar 46-38.

It was a rematch of a regular season contest played back on Jan. 23 which Wayne also won. That time by a 48-39 score.

Addison Walter and Anisten Wortmann led the Lady Trojan offense with 15 and 12 points respectively.

Walter also led on the boards grabbing seven missed shots.

Savannah Pick and Wortmann each pulled down six boards.

Autumn Kathol dished out four assists, Madison Eickhoff distributed two.

The Lady Trojans were set to take on undefeated Elkhorn Valley on Feb. 10 before hosting Battle Creek on Feb. 12 and traveling to Summerland for a Feb. 13 contest.
